Police State: Next Time You Save a Deer from Icy Water Wear Life Jackets

In a free country, I have real problems with seat belt and life preserver laws. Why does a government the promotes freedom, which is a form of self-responsibility, force citizens to wear seat belts and life preservers. The American police state ticketed a good deed earlier this week.

Jim Hart and Khalil Abusakran witnessed a deer drowning in icy cold water, unable to get out of the crack in the ice. They went to work to save the deer only to be ticketed by the officer who witnessed their heroic act. Why were they ticketed? Because they aren't allowed to swim and operate their boat with personal flotation devices on.

Ask yourself are you really free with state and local governments have so much control they can force you to wear seat belts and life preservers.
