If you are looking for a scenic hike with great views overlooking the scenic Arkansas Ozarks, Whitaker Point is for you. This nearly four mile round trip hike gives you great views of the beautiful Ozarks near the Buffalo River. Also known as Hawksbill Crag, this overlook is one of the most photographed places in Arkansas, and isn't for those who fear heights. I walked out to the edge of the slanted rock, and it slanted surface gives you a strange feeling, but is worth the trill of overlooking.
Hawksbill Crag is located off Cave Mountain Road in Newton County, and is a few miles south of Ponca.
