Federal Employees Are Paid Too Much: 6 Out of the Top 10 Richest Counties in USA are Near Washington, DC

These are dire times in the United States as we just hit over $14 trillion in debt. As governors across the United States attempt to get their state budgets under control, we are learning a lot about public service employees and their public service unions. If you want to acquire wealth in the United States, the traditional method of starting a small business and working hard is no longer the key to success, however a government job tied to public service unions appear to be the key.

Get this! Six out of the top most wealthy counties in the United States are a stones throw away from Washington, DC. Do you think it's because of American ingenuity and private sector development? Of course, not, especially when you consider the multiple penalties established by the federal government to take on these endeavors these days. If you want to get rich in America, you have to get into a federal government job.

From the Washington, Examiner:

Loudoun ranks as the richest county in the United States, immediately followed by Fairfax and Howard counties, while Montgomery, traditionally one of the wealthiest, is now 10th.

Forbes magazine ranked eight other Washington-area counties in its list of the nation's 25 wealthiest counties, far more than any other area in the country. The rankings are based on 2008 median household income data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Loudoun's median household income was $110,643, while Fairfax's was $106,785 and Howard's came in at $101,710.

"This is obviously very good news," said David Robertson, executive director of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. "While certainly unemployment is higher than we would like, it is well better than the national average."

Well these average numbers match what we are learning as public service employees salaries have been exposed in recent weeks. As for this being good news? This isn't good news at all. This shows there is clearly an expansion in federal jobs that are taking place--jobs that have a public service union pushing up salaries and benefits at the taxpayers expense. Other communities are slowly becoming slaves as more of their wealth is confiscated to pay for the rise in recent years of federal jobs. I seem to recall a story last year where federal government jobs now outnumber manufacturing jobs in the United States, the same manufacturing jobs that allowed Americans to generate wealth and achieve the American dream.

This unbalanced federal jobs to manufacturing jobs in the United States that drives up the salaries of these neighboring DC counties is going to continue pushing this country into more debt. You can't deny that.
