Obama's New Bipartisan Tone Promotes Huge Budget Increase Over Program the GOP Wants Stopped

National Public Radio sent out a huge thanks to Barack Obama. Republicans are attempting to stop funding for public radio, citing that we are broke and the federal government shouldn't be in the radio business.

"Public broadcasting received a vote of confidence today from the Obama Administration," NPR said in a statement Monday. "The President's FY 2012 budget submission to Congress included $451 million for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) for the two year advance appropriation for FY 2014, an increase of $6 million over FY 2013 funding."

So it appears to me, Obama isn't serious about freezing spending like he promised in his State of the Union Address, and this idea of bipartisanship only works when Obama benefits. This obvious was a statement of defiance to the Republicans lackadaisical efforts to get spending under control.
