Texas to Pass Bill Allowing Students to Conceal and Carry on Texas College Campuses

A new Texas law would allow students to conceal and carry on college campuses in Texas. In efforts to avoid situations like Virginia Tech, Texas realizes crime goes down when law-abiding citizens are armed and ready.

“It’s strictly a matter of self-defense,” state Sen. Jeff Wentworth, a Republican, told The Associated Press. “I don’t ever want to see repeated on a Texas college campus what happened at Virginia Tech, where some deranged, suicidal madman goes into a building and is able to pick off totally defenseless kids like sitting ducks.”

Governor Rick Perry will sign the bill once the State House passes the bill. It has already been passed in the Texas Senate.
