Reinventing Obama: "He's not a big spending liberal"

Obama is at the near half-way point of his first term. In one of the fastest falls from favor I have witnessed in the American presidency, it appears pundits worried about his reelection chances are throwing out their credibility to redefine Obama. Take for instance this Chris Matthews panel from the weekend where one of the members ignores Obama's nearly one trillion in stimulus spending, the omnibus bills, the trillion dollar healthcare law, and the expansion of big government. "He's not a big spending liberal."
