Lucas Case Had an Obama-sized Problem in Branson Alderman Race: Does the Right Thing

Lucas Case, a well known young Republican insider in Southwest Missouri, was running for ward III alderman in Branson, Missouri. This week, Case suddenly dropped out of the race citing a problem that is plaguing a bigger name nationally--residency. Due to residency requirements, it became apparent Case was ineligible to run in the Branson race. Sound familar? Perhaps similar to an elusive birth certificate on Hawaii governor promised to produce but has failed to find even a trace of?

Case did the honorable thing and didn't play games with any court like another Obama connected politician running for mayor in Chicago. He withdrew from the race releasing the following statement:

"After discussing in length my qualifications and proof of residency with the Taney County Clerk and my attorney, we have determined that I am not eligible to seek the office of Alderman Ward III," Case said in his statement.

Isn't it nice for a change that one politician is ready to follow the rules rather than use the courts to break the rules or continue to hide something elusive to protect the truth.
