OH CRAP!: Obama Proposes a $1.65 Trillion Deficit in New Budget

What is the best word to describe all the rhetoric Obama used in his State of the Union about freezing spending and getting deficits under control?  Crap is the best way I can describe it nicely.

The Obama administration just released their hopes for the next budget. It includes another $1.65 trillion in deficit spending. Now remember the deficit was just over $10 trillion when Obama took office and it recently reached $14 trillion, and that's in two years.

From the Blaze:

Obama’s new budget projects that the deficit for the current year will surge to an all-time high of $1.65 trillion. That reflects a sizable tax-cut agreement reached with Republicans in December. For 2012, the administration sees the imbalance declining to $1.1 trillion, giving the country a record four straight years of $1 trillion-plus deficits.

Oh yeah, blame it on the tax cuts and not the fact the federal government keeps spending money. The total budget for the new year totals $3.73 trillion spending. Remember the federal government currently spends and average $6.85 million per minute. This is insane. So much for that $100 billion Republicans promised in savings if they let Obama get away with this.

Of course, here's the problem. There is some truth to the tax cuts being the reason for more debt, but it's only half the story. Back in December when they were compromising with Obama instead of forcing their new leadership and majority in the House, they agreed to part of this spending in order to keep the Bush tax cuts. Rather than wait until January and create a bill that saved the tax cuts, Republicans gave Obama a second stimulus, which is reflected in this budget. It's going to be interesting to see how Republicans maneuver around this compromise. It's a compromise that could have some real implications in 2012.
