We Are Going to Learn A Lot Billy Long's Commitment to the US Constitution

Will Congressman Long fight federal TSA tyranny or
will he roll over and allow DHS to continue down their
current path?
Billy Long told the Washington press he was "tea party before tea party was cool." Since that time, Long chose to skip the reading of the Constitution to meet with a lobbyist. Then he tried to intimidate political free speech by directing the FBI to a blogger who was critical of him. Perhaps the ultimate test for Billy Long's dedication to the Constitution is still to come.

Already earning a "F" grade when it comes to Constitutional matters in the House, Congressman Long announced today Republican Peter King, who last week announced his support of more gun control in America, appointed Long as the Vice Chairman of one of the Department of Homeland Security subcommittees, Oversight, Investigations, and Management.

I shouldn't have to tell you one of the greatest threats to liberty is this idea the federal government can keep you safe at whatever cost. Remember, it was the great Ben Franklin who said, those who give up liberty for security deserve neither. There isn't a greater government bureaucracy that I can identify more with the loss of liberty after 9/11 than the Department of Homeland Security. They have told Americans their Fourth Amendment right no longer matters and all Americans are suspects for doing something as common as travelling. Their TSA thugs continue grope Americans and force Americans into their naked body scanners in what I see is clearly a violation of Constitutional rights.

So it is with this said that we are going to discover just how dedicated Billy Long is to liberty as he takes a leadership role in the Homeland Security committee. Will Congressman Long become a voice of reason that a argues that a family travelling to Disney World doesn't equate to probable cause, or will his leadership be to roll over and allow the Department of Homeland Security to continue down this tyrannical course? That's the real question today as Long announces his leadership role.
