Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott appears to be developing a credibility problem. When the FBI showed up at my house last Tuesday to discuss the Billy Long is Wrong blog, I was a little confused about why Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott accompanied the FBI since I live in Christian County. As the story gained traction and the media asked Sheriff Arnott for answers, he told the media and radio shows like Nick Reed that he had a Republic address as my residence. Just one problem with Sheriff Arnott's claim.Yes it's true I had a Republic address for a very short period of time when I was reestablishing my residency in Missouri. The address, which appears on my drivers license is 106 Metalwood, Republic, Missouri, which happens to be in Christian County. Sheriff Arnott was always willing to cross into Christian County without the knowledge of Sheriff Joey Kyle.
Now to get this address, Sheriff Arnott probably pulled DMV records since the only state document that I know that has this Republic address. It would be my guess, since the DMV works with personal property county tax records, wouldn't it be safe to assume that county records would be tied with information in the DMV computers? More than likely Sheriff Arnott knew the entire time that I lived in Christian County.
