“Anybody here today who has not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, I’m telling you, you‘re not my brother and you’re not my sister, and I want to be your brother,” Bentley said.
Bentley was speaking at a Martin Luther King event, who is a fellow Southern Baptist, which is the denomination of the governor. King, who was active in the Southern Baptist faith, addressed the Southern Baptists leadership at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Bentley issued an apology for his statement. He said he promised to work for people of all faith. Still, what did he do wrong but state and follow his faith? Is this really an outrage. What happened to the days with people in the South burned Beatles records for John Lennon simply stating the Beatles are more popular than Jesus Christ?
How far we have fallen in 50 years!
