What are we still doing in Afghanistan? Does anyone know what the real goals are at this point? American fatalities are increasing very quickly under Obama's command and there just doesn't seem to be any real goals as we continue to fight in the graveyard of armies. Now, the puppet government put in place by the Bush administration is turning on the United States. From the Washington Post:
Sitting at the head of a glass-topped, U-shaped table in his conference room, Karzai refused to budge, according to two people with direct knowledge of the late October meeting. He insisted that Afghan police and soldiers could protect the reconstruction workers, and he dismissed pleas for a delay.
As he spoke, he grew agitated, then enraged. He told them that he now has three "main enemies" - the Taliban, the United States and the international community.
"If I had to choose sides today, I'd choose the Taliban," he fumed.
So what are we still doing in Afghanistan? The situation obviously isn't getting better as the call for more American troops were made earlier this month. We are loosing support of the Afghan people as we continue to build empires and justifying it as a fight against the bogeyman, Osama bin Ladin.
Karzai no longer wants us in his country. It's time to get out and fight the bogeyman with intelligence and not American lives.
