Tea Party Patriot HQ in Branson Proves Itself to be Weak Tea Again

A conversation has begun to take place place at the Tea Party Patriot HQ Facebook fan page. As you know, the Tea Party Patriot HQ has come under fire from other Tea Parties in the area for being a for-profit neocon front that turns a blind eye to Republicans who are Constitutional friendly. The best example of this would be their support of Roy Blunt, who voted for TARP, some of the bailouts, Cash for Clunkers, and the Patriot Act.

Their Facebook fan page presented an opportunity to point out just how hypocritical this group is and how out of touch they are with wasteful government spending that infringes on the free market, they posted information about a new airline serving Branson's new privately owned commercial airport. To attract an airline to the airport, subsidies lured the airline just like they do in other smaller markets around the United States.

After posting that airlines in Branson are receiving subsidies paid for by taxpayers to serve the small Branson airport, and questioning why this isn't a problem for the Tea Party Patriot HQ in Branson, someone representing the organization responded:


Teaparty Patriot-hq I only posted this to let people know that you can fly directly into Branson now, instead of flying into Springfield & driving an hour. Should help w/tourism..and more people visiting HQ :)

So tourism is more important than free market principles which work on supply and demand. In other words, let's overlook that taxpayer money is being used to pay the airlines to come into Branson because they obviously wouldn't make a profit or enough profit to justify their service to Branson. It brings in tourists and that all that matters.

Let me put this into another perspective that Tera Sukman and her Tea Party Patriot HQ understands. For many years, Planned Parenthood has fortified its position in inner cities, where young girls produce a higher pregnancy rate. Normally, there wouldn't be any profit in these impoverished inner city neighborhoods, but thanks to government subsidies like the airlines get to serve cities like Branson, Planned Parenthood has received government subsidies to build establishments where profit is unlikely. This is what is happening when you hear tax dollars are being used to fund abortions.

Consider this. For every dollar Planned Parenthood makes, 33.3 cents is subsidized by the federal government ($349.6 million in the 2008 fiscal year). While the Tea Party Patriot HQ is saying well it brings in Tourists to the area, well, some liberal is claiming these government subsidies create jobs in the innner cities.
