Ozarkers Getting Tired of Billy Long's Aw Shucks Act

For Billy Long, being a politicians is about saying something he thinks is clever and voting the way he is told to vote by people like John Boehner and Roy Blunt--you know those establishment career politicians he claimed to be fed up with. It doesn't matter what the issue of the day is, you can always count on Billy Long to have something to say that would inspire any Jeff Foxworthy joke.

For instance, when the budget showed up on Long's desk earlier this week, Long compared it to a bass--you know the fish. From Long's twitter account.

However, the criticism towards Long is increasing throughout the Ozarks. Randy Turner, the blogger behind the Turner Report posted this Billy tweet on his blog, and the comments directed at Billy Long show that many are starting to get tired of this good ol' boy act.

-But less than the smallest total weight of food at a buffet visit.


-I guess I'm supposed to find the bass comment charming and folksy, but I can't help but be concerned when a legislator in charge of safeguarding our interests is presented with a detailed breakdown of precisely how our hard-earned tax money will be spent and his carefully crafted public statement is - Golly! It's heavier than a fish!


-He won't understand a word of the budget, someone will have to tell him what he thinks about it.

I'm tiring of that good ol' boy garbage out of his mouth too.



-A fitting remark from a Member of Congress from this area. Chances are, the documents will come nearer being a boat anchor than being opened, read and explained to us.


-Poor ole Billy, he'll never be hurt in a car wreck, 'cause he is always a mile behind.


-My guess is that's about as much analysis as you're ever going to get out of this guy.

I'd say he's an embarrassment to the region, but let's face it, it's not like the people of this region won't elect him again.

Then there was this tweet:

One Representative tried repeatedly to use the voting machine with his American Express - 'Your Voting Card - Don't Leave Home Without It'

Any chance the representative was Congressman Long? It's probably a really good chance it was.

Oh, and let's not forget this tweet as Billy Long's fascination for  Washington establishment liberal women continues. Do you remember the first picture he sent home during freshman orientation? I just hope Long sends a look at me I'm with Hillary picture back for the conservatives of Southwest Missouri to see.

Hey Billy, you mean the same Secretary of State that once was the Senator of New York who would roll her eyes and sigh at President George W. Bush? Bush wasn't the smartest guy in the world, but he had many IQ points superior to you Mr. Long. I mean he did get through Yale while you had problems getting through a semester at Mizzou before heading off to learn how to talk fast. If Hillary Clinton rolled her eyes at Bush, just imagine what she was thinking when you bored her with a "long talk." Of course any time you open your mouth it could be considered a "Long" talk. She probably didn't give you more than ten seconds, did she?
