Is it any surprise that less than 24 hours after the Patriot Act extensions failed, thanks to 26 brave Republicans who voted against John Boehner's wishes, that Janet Napolitano is raising the rhetoric? In a press conference today, Big Sis exclaimed the threat of terrorism is at "its most heightened state" since the 9/11 attacks nearly a decade ago. Imagine that as politicians now scramble to save the unconstitutional Patriot Act.
It gets better. Look at who Napolitano blames for this heightened state. (I don't think you are going to be surprised.)
"The terrorist threat facing our country has evolved significantly in the last ten years -- and continues to evolve -- so that, in some ways, the threat facing us is at its most heightened state since those attacks, she said before the House Homeland Security Committee. Her comments were a sobering reminder that the potential of another attack is real and growing, most notably from individuals radicalized inside the United States, despite elaborate security measures implemented by the government since 2001.
"One of the most striking elements of today's threat picture is that plots to attack America increasingly involve American residents and citizens," Napolitano said, referring to so-called homegrown terrorists fueled by the Internet and connections with operatives overseas.
Can anyone say full-naked groping coming soon at an airport near you?
My friends this is rhetoric. Rhetoric designed to scare those brave Republicans and Democrats who voted for freedom and liberty yesterday with a vote against the Patriot Act to reconsider their actions. Without the Patriot Act, Janet Napolitano's powers over the American people shrink. She makes a living from scaring Americans into believing in the boogy man as she confiscates and destroys Constitutional rights with this sick sexual perversion that insults the American people who choose to travel in the air. I am not buying into this rhetoric. I hope you are careful about buying into it as well.
The timing of Napolitano's press conference isn't by mistake. This is purely condemnation to those Congressmen who voted no yesterday.
