Janet Napolitano & DHS Review Freedom of Information Requests Before Releasing Documents

The federal government is supposed to be a government of the people, by the people, for the people. This is one of the driving factors that allow Americans to discover the inner workings of their government to some degree through the Freedom of Information Act.

We are now finding out that Janet Napolitano, the head of the American police state known as the Department of Homeland Security who runs the Transportation Security Administration and creates no-fly lists, are reviewing these Freedom of Information Requests prior to any information being released through the act.

Now this has me wondering two things. Is Janet Napolitano controlling documents that should be available through such a request from Americans to hide the questionable things DHS is doing. Such as, I am sure one of the requests they have received is documentation about radiation exposure from the naked body scanners in airports, a subject that has varying answers depending how who you ask. DHS and manufacturers claim the machines are safe. A few Congressmen, doctors, and experts claim the radiation exposure presents a risk.

The second thing I am wondering, does making a Freedom of Information Act that further exposes DHS as a threat to American freedom place you on an enemies of the state list--you know one of those no-fly lists and other questionable practices that so many Americans without any record are ending up on?
