Missouri House Republicans All Vote to Extend American Police State with Patriot Act Extension Vote
What a sad day in Missouri it has been to be a Constitutional Conservative. Luckily Lincoln Day events are near which will give real conservatives an opportunity to face their Republican representatives and ask why they voted against the Constitution and its liberty and freedoms.
All Missouri Republicans in the House of Representatives voted for the Patriot Act extensions in the House of Representatives last night. Perhaps, some of these representatives came to a Tea Party you attended and spoke about how they would defend liberty and freedom. Yet, when put to the test they failed you. Every one of them.
As an act of condemnation for their vote against the Constitution, clearly ignoring the great words of Benjamin Franklin, those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither, here are the list of Missouri Republicans who voted to extend the Fourth Amendment, Fifth Amendment, and Sixth Amendment killing Patriot Act:
Todd Akin MO-2
Vicky Hartzler M0-4
Sam Graves MO-6 (Shame on you Sam, you just tarnished your votes against TARP and the bailouts)
Billy Long MO-7
Jo Anne Emerson MO-8 (She is like the Obama of Missouri when it comes to residency)
Blaine Luetkemeyer Mo-9
You be sure to ask these DeceptiCONs why they voted against liberty and freedom last night at a Lincoln Day event near you. They want to talk about the destruction Obamacare does to the Constitution, and it does, but they probably won't want to talk about their own crimes against the Constitution. (Right Mr. Long?)
In case you are wondering what exactly they voted for, the following list is the three provisions that were up for a vote:
The three expiring Patriot Act provisions are:
• The “roving wiretap” provision allows the FBI to obtain wiretaps from a secret intelligence court, known as the FISA court, without identifying what method of communication is to be tapped.
• The “lone wolf” measure allows FISA court warrants for the electronic monitoring of a person for whatever reason — even without showing that the suspect is an agent of a foreign power or a terrorist. The government has said it has never invoked that provision, but the Obama administration said it wanted to retain the authority to do so.
• The “business records” provision allows FISA court warrants for any type of record, from banking to library to medical, without the government having to declare that the information sought is connected to a terrorism or espionage investigation.
